How to Sell Your Car on Cars DXB Japan: A Step-by-Step Guide

From creating your free seller account to answering buyers on WhatsApp: how to write an honest listing, take photos that sell, choose Standard or Featured, pay securely, then renew or mark your car as sold.

Selling on Cars DXB Japan is done online in a few steps. You create a free seller account, add your car's details and photos, choose a listing package and pay by card. Our team reviews the listing, it goes live, and buyers contact you directly by WhatsApp or phone. There is no commission and no middleman on the sale.

Here is each step, with practical tips for a listing buyers can trust.

Step 1: Create your free seller account

Go to Sell your car and choose Create your listing. You can sign up in one of three ways:

  • Google: continue with your Google account.
  • Phone number: enter your mobile number and type in the 6-digit code we send you by SMS.
  • Email and password: choose a password of at least 8 characters.

Then add your seller details: your name or dealership name, whether you are a dealer or a private seller, your mobile and WhatsApp numbers, and your city. Buyers reach you on these numbers, so check them carefully. Signing up is free; you only pay when you publish a listing.

Step 2: Write a listing buyers can trust

Start with the basics: make, model, trim, year, mileage (in km or miles), regional spec (for example GCC spec or Japan import) and, for an imported car, the country it came from. Then add the gearbox, body type, fuel, cylinders, colours and the city where the car is.

Be honest about condition

Buyers in the UAE usually ask about accidents and paint first, so every listing has a condition section:

  • Accident history: No accidents, Minor accident, Major accident or Not specified.
  • Paint: Original paint (factory), Partial repaint, Full repaint or Not specified.
  • Condition notes: say which panels were repainted or what was repaired.

Your answers are shown clearly on the listing as stated by you. Buyers can filter for No accidents only or Original paint only, so accurate information puts your car in front of the right people. It also saves wasted viewings later.

Use the description well

Mention the service history, recent maintenance, any modifications and, for an import, the papers you have. Keep it factual and easy to read.

Set a clear price

Enter your asking price in whole dirhams. Compare similar cars on the site first. Open to offers? Tick The price is negotiable. If you would rather discuss price privately, leave the field empty and the listing shows Price on request.

Step 3: Add up to 15 good photos

Photos are the first thing buyers judge. Upload up to 15 (JPEG, PNG or WebP). The first photo is the cover buyers see in search results, and you can drag photos to change the order.

  • Cover first: a front three-quarter view of the whole car works best.
  • Daylight: shoot in good natural light, away from busy backgrounds.
  • All angles: front, rear, both sides and the wheels.
  • Interior: seats, dashboard, steering wheel and boot.
  • Odometer: a clear shot of the dashboard showing the mileage.
  • Engine bay and any damage: showing marks honestly builds trust.

Every photo must show the actual car you are selling. Keep papers such as service records and import documents for the viewing, and mention them in the description instead. We remove location data from photos before they are published.

Step 4: Choose Standard or Featured

There are two packages, and each keeps your car live for 30 days:

  • Standard: everything you need to sell. Your car appears in search results and the latest listings, and buyers contact you directly.
  • Featured: everything in Standard, plus a gold Featured badge, a place first in search results and in the Featured cars section on the home page.

Featured can suit a rare classic, or a popular model with plenty of similar cars listed. Current prices are on the Sell your car page. It is a one-time fee per listing: no subscription, and no commission when the car sells.

Step 5: Pay securely

You pay by card on Stripe's secure checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Cars DXB Japan. If a payment does not go through, you are not charged and can try again.

Step 6: Review before going live

After payment, your listing goes to our team, who check the details and photos. This is a review of the listing, not a physical inspection of the car. If something needs changing, we tell you why so you can edit it and resubmit, with nothing extra to pay. Once it is approved, your car is live.

Step 7: Answer buyers on WhatsApp

Your listing has Call and WhatsApp buttons, so buyers reach you directly. A WhatsApp enquiry sent from the listing includes a link to the car, so you know which car they mean.

  • Reply quickly and politely.
  • Arrange viewings in a safe, public place in daylight.
  • If a buyer wants the car checked at an independent, reputable inspection centre, be open to it.
  • Agree the price and payment directly with the buyer, and confirm the current ownership transfer steps with the relevant UAE authority.

While the listing is live, you can update the price, mileage and description from your account at any time. For other changes, such as photos, message our team on WhatsApp.

Step 8: Mark it as sold, or renew

When the car sells, mark it as sold from your account straight away. Buyers then see it as sold and stop contacting you. This cannot be undone.

If the 30 days end before the car sells, the listing expires and is hidden from buyers. You can renew it from your account. Because it was approved before, it goes straight back up once you pay, with no new review.

Quick checklist

  1. Your mobile and WhatsApp numbers are correct.
  2. Spec, mileage, accident history and paint are accurate.
  3. The cover photo is a sharp daylight shot of the whole car.
  4. The description mentions the service history and papers you have.
