Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about buying and selling with Cars DXB Japan.
Buying a car
How do I find the right car on Cars DXB Japan?
Open all cars for sale and narrow the list with the filters: make, body type, price, year, regional spec and the country the car was imported from.
You can also tick No accidents only or Original paint only, or search by keyword, such as a model name, in English or Arabic (for example, لاندكروزر).
How do I contact a seller?
Each car page has Call and WhatsApp buttons that put you in touch directly with the seller, whether that's a dealer, a private seller or Cars DXB Japan itself. If you're asked to sign in first, a free buyer account takes a minute.
There is no middleman and no commission on the sale. You agree the viewing, the price and the payment directly with the seller.
Does Cars DXB Japan inspect or guarantee the cars?
No. Our team reviews every listing before it goes live by checking its details and photos. This is not a physical inspection, and Cars DXB Japan does not inspect, warrant or guarantee any car.
Before you pay, we recommend that you:
- See the car in person and take it for a test drive.
- Check the papers and the service history.
- Have the car checked at an independent, reputable inspection centre.
- Confirm the current registration and transfer rules with the relevant UAE authority.
What do “GCC spec” and “Japan import” mean on a listing?
The regional spec shows the market the car was originally sold in. A car on Cars DXB Japan can be GCC spec, a Japan import, a US import, a European import or another import. When the seller adds it, the listing also shows the country the car was imported from.
Use the spec filter to browse, for example, Japan imports or GCC-spec cars.
Who provides the accident history and paint condition?
The seller. Each listing shows the accident history (No accidents, Minor accident, Major accident or Not specified) and the paint condition (Original paint (factory), Partial repaint, Full repaint or Not specified), as stated by the seller.
Treat these as the seller's own description and confirm them when you view the car, ideally with an independent inspection. To narrow your search, use the No accidents only or Original paint only filters.
Selling & listings
How do I sell my car on Cars DXB Japan?
- Create a free seller account. Dealers and private sellers can both list.
- Add your car's details and up to 15 photos. The first photo is the cover buyers see.
- Choose a package: Standard or Featured, each for 30 days.
- Pay the listing fee by card on Stripe's secure checkout.
- Our team reviews your listing, and it goes live once approved. Buyers then call or WhatsApp you directly.
Get started on the Sell your car page.
What is the difference between the Standard and Featured packages?
Both packages keep your listing live for 30 days, and with both, buyers contact you directly with no commission.
A Featured listing is shown first in search results, carries a gold Featured badge and appears in the Featured cars section on the home page, so it stands out.
Current prices for both packages are on the Sell your car page.
What should I include in my listing?
The more complete your listing, the fewer questions buyers need to ask. You can add:
- Make, model, trim, year and mileage (in km or miles).
- Price in AED, or "Price on request". You can also mark the price as negotiable.
- Regional spec and, for imports, the country the car came from.
- Gearbox, body type, fuel, cylinders and colours.
- Accident history, paint condition and any condition notes.
- Location and a clear, honest description.
For photos, shoot in daylight and include the outside from different angles, the interior, the dashboard showing the mileage, the engine bay and any damage.
What happens after I pay?
Your listing goes to our team for review. We check the details and photos, and your listing goes live as soon as it's approved. You don't need to do anything else.
If something needs changing, you'll see a note from our team in your seller account. Update the listing and resubmit it for review, with nothing more to pay.
Can I change my listing after it goes live?
Yes. While your listing is live, you can update the price, mileage and description at any time from your seller account. For any other change, including photos, message our team on WhatsApp.
When your car sells, mark it as sold from your account. If the 30 days end first, the listing is hidden from buyers and you can renew it from your account.
Payments
How much does it cost to list my car?
Creating a seller account is free. You pay a one-time listing fee for each car, depending on the package you choose: Standard or Featured. There is no subscription and no commission when your car sells.
See current prices on the Sell your car page. For buyers, browsing cars and creating a buyer account are free.
How do I pay the listing fee?
You pay by card on Stripe's secure checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach Cars DXB Japan.
Once you've paid, you return to your seller account, where you can follow your listing's status.
What if my payment fails or I cancel it?
If your payment doesn't go through or you cancel at checkout, you are not charged. Choose a package and try again whenever you're ready.
Some payments take a few minutes to confirm. If you were charged but the payment doesn't appear in your account, message us on WhatsApp with your receipt, or get in touch through our contact page.
How do I renew an expired listing?
Each package keeps your listing live for 30 days. When it expires, the listing is hidden from buyers. To bring it back, open it in your seller account, choose Renew, pick a package and pay again.
Because the listing was already approved, it goes live again as soon as your payment is confirmed, with no new review.
Do I pay for the car through Cars DXB Japan?
No. The site only takes listing fees from sellers, not payments for cars. Buyers and sellers agree the price and the payment for the car directly with each other. For cars listed by Cars DXB Japan itself, our team is the seller and you arrange this with us directly.
As a buyer, see the car in person and check its papers before you pay the seller.
Accounts & sign-in
Do I need an account to browse cars?
No. You can browse all the cars on the site without an account.
A free buyer account lets you save the cars you like and save your searches, so you can come back to them on any device. If you're asked to sign in to see a seller's contact details, the same free account is all you need. Create an account.
How can I sign in?
You can sign in in three ways:
- Google: continue with your Google account.
- Phone number: enter your mobile number and we'll text you a 6-digit code.
- Email and password: use the email and password you signed up with.
The same options work for buyer and seller accounts. Sign in.
What's the difference between a buyer account and a seller account?
A buyer account is for saving cars and searches. A seller account is for listing cars, paying listing fees and managing your listings. Both are free to create.
You can have both. If you use email and password, sign up for the second account with the same email and password, and you'll stay signed in to both. Create an account.
How do saved cars and saved searches work?
Tap the heart on any car to save it. Your saved cars stay in your buyer account, on your phone and your computer.
To save a search, set your filters on the cars page and tap Save this search. Your account then shows how many cars match each saved search and what's new since you last looked.
I forgot my password. What should I do?
No problem. Open Forgot password (the link is also on the Sign in page), type the email you sign in with and press Email me a reset link. We'll email you a link to choose a new password.
- The link is valid for 15 minutes and works once. If it has expired, just ask for a new one (you can ask again after a minute). Only the link in the newest email works.
- The email comes from no-reply@carsdxbjapan.com. If you can't find it after a few minutes, look in your spam or junk folder.
- If you have a buyer and a seller account with the same email, they share one password, so the new password works for both.
- Signed up with Google, Apple or your mobile number? You don't have a password with us. Just sign in the same way again.
We'll never ask you for your password. Still can't sign in? Message us on WhatsApp and we'll help.
